ETS2 Multiplayer Server — Across Europe's Roads Together
With your own Euro Truck Simulator 2 server (via TruckersMP or Convoy) you can haul freight across Europe together with your friends. Your own rules, your own routes, your own pace.
In this guide we show you how to set up your ETS2 multiplayer server and adjust the most important settings.
Important: ETS2 multiplayer works via TruckersMP (free, large-scale multiplayer) or via the official Convoy multiplayer (since update 1.50). For a dedicated server you need a game server host like Agrar Chaoten.

Setting Up the Server — Step by Step
Order and start your server
Order your ETS2 server at Agrar Chaoten. After setup you'll receive login credentials for the web interface.
Adjust the server configuration
You'll find the server config in the web interface. The most important settings:
Game speed & time zone
Set the time scaling. The default is real time, but you can speed up the in-game clock for faster day-night cycles.
Invite your friends
Share the server IP or the name from the server list. All players need the same game version and ideally the same DLCs.
DLCs and Compatibility
ETS2 has numerous map DLCs (Scandinavia, Italia, Iberia, etc.). For multiplayer the rules are:
- Players without a DLC cannot drive into DLC regions
- The server loads all regions — players without the DLC are stopped at the border
- For the best experience, all players should own the same DLCs
Mods on Your ETS2 Server
Mods can be used in Convoy multiplayer — but all players must have the same mods installed:
- Truck mods: New vehicles and tuning parts
- Map mods: ProMods, Rusmap — massively expand the game world
- Sound mods: More realistic engine and ambient sounds
- Trailer mods: New trailers and cargo
Important: All players must have exactly the same mods in the same version, otherwise connection errors will occur.
Tips for the Best Convoy
Start a shared company: Create a haulage company in-game and work on jobs together.
Use voice chat: Discord or TeamSpeak make the convoy far more fun than text chat alone.
ProMods recommended: The popular map expansion ProMods nearly doubles the game world and is free.
