The problem: console can't join

PC players get onto the server without any issues, but PS5 or Xbox players get kicked immediately or can't find the server at all. That's frustrating — especially when you're paying for a server. The good news: there's always a fixable cause.

Basic rule: FS25 crossplay works flawlessly on a technical level — but only when certain requirements are met. Work through this checklist.

Server-side checklist

Crossplay enabled?

In the web interface → server settings → "Crossplay" has to be active. Without this setting, console players can't join — no matter what else is right.

Server set to public?

Console players can't enter an IP address. The server has to be set to public so it shows up in the server list. If private/password-protected: the password has to be entered identically on the console.

No external FTP mods?

This is the most common mistake. Any mod uploaded via FTP automatically disables crossplay. Only ModHub mods are allowed. In the web interface → Mods: remove all external mods, then restart the server.

Server version up to date?

After updates, server and client have to be on the same version. Check in the web interface whether an update is available.

Console-side checklist

PS Plus / Xbox Live Gold active?

Sony and Microsoft require an active subscription for online multiplayer. Without PS Plus (PS5) or Xbox Live Gold/Game Pass (Xbox), online multiplayer isn't possible — not even on dedicated servers.

A GIANTS account is mandatory for crossplay — on console, too. In the game, go to Profile → sign in to or create a GIANTS account (free).

Same FS25 version?

PC and console have to be on the same game version. After updates: update the console, then try again.

Network problem: DS-Lite

If the console player has a German internet connection with DS-Lite (no real IPv4), they often can't connect. That's not the server's fault — it's the player's internet connection.

How to spot it: Is it just this one player who can't get on, while everyone else connects fine? → DS-Lite is likely the cause.
Fix: Request a real IPv4 address from the internet provider (usually free).

If nothing helps: contacting support the right way

If the checklists don't get you any further, contact your server provider's support. Crossplay problems can be narrowed down faster if you include the key information right away: the server log, the time of the connection attempt, the affected platform (PS5 or Xbox) and your latest changes to mods or settings.
