Short answer

Why does the PS5 always get kicked at 99% in FS25?

Most common cause: external FTP mods disable crossplay automatically. Only ModHub mods allow crossplay. Other causes: the player's DS-Lite internet connection, a corrupted savegame or an outdated server version after an update.

What happens with the 99% problem?

You or your friends get to 99% on the loading screen and then get kicked with "Connection to the game lost". This is one of the most common problems on FS25 servers — and it almost always has a fixable cause.

Important first: The 99% problem has several different causes. Work through the causes in order — the first one that applies is usually the solution.

Cause 1: External mods disable crossplay

This is the most common cause. If external FTP mods are installed on the server, crossplay doesn't work — console players always get kicked at 99%.

1

Remove all external mods

In the web interface: disable or delete all mods uploaded via FTP. Keep only ModHub mods.

2

Enable crossplay

In the web interface under Settings → click "Enable crossplay" → restart the server.

3

Make the server public

Console players can't join via IP — the server has to be publicly visible.

Cause 2: DS-Lite internet (no real IPv4)

Many German internet connections (especially Telekom and Vodafone) use DS-Lite — meaning several households share a single IPv4 address. FS25 servers need a real IPv4 connection for crossplay.

How to check whether you have DS-Lite: Go to ipv6test.google.com. If you only see an IPv6 address but no "normal" IPv4 — you have DS-Lite.

Fix: Call your internet provider and request a real IPv4 address. With Vodafone and Telekom this is free of charge. Afterwards, switch your Fritzbox (router) to "IPv4 & IPv6".

Important: This problem is on the side of the player trying to connect — not the server. If only certain players have the problem, those players should check their internet connection.

Cause 3: Corrupted savegame

After updates or after certain mod conflicts, the savegame can get corrupted. This often shows up as the 99% crash — the server loads the savegame, fails while doing so and kicks everyone out.

1

Restore a backup

In the web interface → Backups → restore the last working backup → restart the server.

2

Test with a fresh map

Start a new game on a standard map without mods. If that works, the problem is the savegame or a mod.

Cause 4: Server not updated after a game update

After FS25 updates, the server software and the game client need to be on the same version. If the server is still running the old version, you get the connection error at 99%.

Fix: Restart the server in the web interface or explicitly update it to the new version. With some providers this happens automatically, with others you have to do it manually.

Still stuck at 99%?

If none of the causes applies or the fix doesn't help, the cause may be on the server side — for example a wrong configuration or outdated server software. In that case, contact your server provider and send them the server log, the time of the error and your latest changes (mods, settings, updates).

Frequently asked questions

Why does the PS5 always get kicked at 99% in FS25?
Most common cause: external FTP mods disable crossplay automatically. Only ModHub mods allow crossplay. Other causes: the player's DS-Lite internet connection, a corrupted savegame or an outdated server version after an update.
What is DS-Lite and why does it block FS25 crossplay?
DS-Lite is an internet connection type without a real IPv4 address. FS25 servers need a real IPv4 for crossplay. Fix: request a real IPv4 from your ISP, then switch your router (e.g. Fritzbox) to IPv4 and IPv6.
Crossplay stopped working after an update?
After updates, the server software and game client must be on the same version. Restart the server in the web interface or update it manually. Mods can also become incompatible after updates.
