Short answer

Setting Up FarmDashboard PRO on Web Space

Order the web space, enter the FTP details from your customer area under "Webspace" in the FarmwerkX installer – host web1.agrarchaoten.com, target folder /httpdocs/farmdashboard –, the MySQL details under "Database", then check and install. Finally add a cron job in Plesk that runs every minute. The dashboard then runs at https://your-address/farmdashboard.

What you need

FarmDashboard PRO does not run on your game server but on web space of its own. From there it keeps pulling your server's data and shows your farm in the browser – on the desktop just as well as on your phone. The software is built by FarmwerkX; we provide the web space.

The web space has to handle five things. If one of them is missing, the dashboard stays empty – and this is exactly where the usual entry-level packages fail:

RequirementWhat for
PHP 8.1 or newerThe dashboard itself
MySQL databaseStores your farm, fleet and history
HTTPSThe dashboard should run encrypted only
Outbound FTP in passive mode and the PHP extension ftpPulls the data from your game server
Cron job every minuteWithout it, nothing refreshes

You also need FTP access to your game server – no matter which host runs it – and the FarmwerkX installer.

Order the web space

1

Book Webspace S

On the web space page you pick an address, for example yourfarm.agrarchaoten.com. We check while you type whether it is still free.

2

Wait for the setup

After payment our system creates everything on its own: address, database, FTP access, HTTPS certificate – and the folder httpdocs/farmdashboard the dashboard belongs in. That usually takes under a minute.

3

Open your credentials

In your customer area, under your web space, you will find every login. You reveal passwords one at a time and copy them with a single click.

Which login is which

Your customer area shows four blocks. Only two of them go into the installer. The most common mistake is putting the Plesk login into the FTP field.

BlockWhat forWhere it goes
FarmDashboardAddress to open and target folderBrowser – and the installer, tab "Webspace"
FTP (upload files)Uploading the dashboardInstaller, tab "Webspace"
Database (MySQL)The dashboard's databaseInstaller, tab "Database"
Plesk (control panel)Signing in via the browser, cron jobnot in the installer

Plesk and FTP are two separate logins – with different usernames and passwords. You only need Plesk to sign in via the browser, for example for the cron job.

Filling in the installer

You download the installer from FarmwerkX. It walks you through five tabs and checks every login before it transfers a single file.

Tab 1: Usage

If your game runs on a rented game server, pick the dedicated-server edition. The singleplayer edition is for save games on your own computer.

Tab 2: Webspace

FieldEntry
Public dashboard URLhttps://yourfarm.agrarchaoten.com/farmdashboard
Upload WebDashboard automaticallyticked
ProtocolFTP
Webspace hostweb1.agrarchaoten.com
Port21
Username and passwordfrom the block "FTP (upload files)"
Webspace target folder/httpdocs/farmdashboard

httpdocs belongs in the target folder, never in the address. The httpdocs folder is what the web server serves – which is why it never shows up in the address in your browser.

The webspace host is always web1.agrarchaoten.com, not your own address. If you would rather use FTPS than FTP, that only works with this name: the certificate is issued for it.

Tab 3: Database

Enter the values from the block "Database (MySQL)": host, database name, user and password. The database already exists and is empty – exactly what the installer expects for a fresh install.

Tab 4: Game server

This is where the FTP login of your game server goes, not the one for the web space. You get it from your game server host. Through this connection the installer uploads the required mods to your server's mod folder, and later the dashboard reads the data from the profile/modSettings folder the same way.

Tab 5: Check and install

Finally you create the login for the dashboard itself: a GlobalAdmin username and a password of at least ten characters. That is your sign-in for the dashboard – separate from Plesk and FTP. Then start the check and the installation. The installer tests the login, target folder and write permissions with a small test file and only then transfers the dashboard.

Cron job every minute

The dashboard does not refresh on its own. A cron job calls it every minute and pulls the latest data from your game server along the way.

1

Sign in to Plesk

With the details from the block "Plesk (control panel)".

2

Add a scheduled task

Under Websites & Domains → Scheduled Tasks → Add Task.

3

Enter the address

Choose "Fetch a URL" as the task type and enter the polling address FarmwerkX gives you for the cron job.

4

Run it every minute

Choose the cron style schedule * * * * * – which means: every minute.

If you like, we will set up the cron job for you. Just drop us a line on Discord.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I host FarmDashboard PRO?
On web space with PHP 8.1 or newer, MySQL, HTTPS, outbound FTP in passive mode and cron jobs every minute. Common entry-level packages usually fail on the cron interval or on outbound FTP. Webspace S from Agrar Chaoten meets every requirement; Agrar Chaoten is a FarmwerkX partner.
Which credentials go into the FarmDashboard installer?
In the "Webspace" tab the FTP login from your customer area with the host web1.agrarchaoten.com, in the "Database" tab the MySQL details. The Plesk login does not go into the installer – it is only for signing in via the browser.
Which target folder do I enter in the installer?
/httpdocs/farmdashboard. The address in your browser is then https://your-address/farmdashboard – without httpdocs. The folder already exists on every web space.
Why does my FarmDashboard show "404 Not Found"?
Almost always because of the target folder: the files sit in /farmdashboard next to httpdocs instead of in /httpdocs/farmdashboard. Fix the target folder and run the installer again.
Does my game server have to be hosted with Agrar Chaoten?
No. The dashboard connects to your game server over FTP, no matter who hosts it. All you need is its FTP login.
Do I need a cron job for FarmDashboard?
Yes. Without a cron job that runs every minute (* * * * *), the dashboard does not refresh. You add it in Plesk under Scheduled Tasks – or we do it for you.
