# FS25 Patch 1.19 — Fixing the Highland Fishing Connection Problem

> Since patch 1.19, FS25 shows the Highland Fishing Pack as incompatible and players can't connect. Solution: delete the AVD file (AVD_XXXXX.dat) via FTP.

**Short answer:** Patch 1.19 changed the version data of certain DLCs. An outdated cache file (dlcAvailability.xml) on the server still contains the old data. Solution: delete the file via FTP and restart the server.

## The problem after patch 1.19

Since FS25 patch 1.19, many players can no longer connect to their rented server. The error message points to the **Highlands Fishing Pack** — it's shown as incompatible even though it ran fine before.

**Cause:** Patch 1.19 changed the version data of certain DLC content. An outdated cache file (`AVD_XXXXX.dat`) on the server still contains the old version data — which leads to the incompatibility error when connecting.

## Solution: delete the AVD file via FTP

The fix is simple — a single cache file has to be deleted. The server automatically recreates it with the correct data on the next start.

**1. Stop the server**

First stop the server in the web interface. As long as the server is running, the file can't be deleted.

**2. Open your FTP client**

Open FileZilla or another FTP client and connect using your server's FTP credentials. You'll find the login details in the web interface under "FTP access".

**3. Navigate to the right folder**

Navigate to the following path on the server:

or, depending on the server configuration:

**4. Delete the AVD file**

Look for a file starting with `AVD_` and ending in `.dat` — e.g. `AVD_63805.dat`. The exact number is different for everyone. Delete this file, or rename it (e.g. to `AVD_63805.dat.bak`) if you'd like to keep a backup copy.

**5. Restart the server**

Restart the server in the web interface. FS25 automatically recreates the file — this time with the correct version data for patch 1.19. After that, connecting should work again.

**Did it work?** After the restart, the Highlands Fishing Pack should no longer be shown as incompatible and all players should be able to connect again.

## No FTP access, or stuck?

Not everyone is familiar with FTP — that's completely normal. In that case, turn to your server provider:

- Open a support ticket and describe that the `AVD_XXXXX.dat` file needs to be deleted after patch 1.19.

**Why is a workaround even needed?** The patch doesn't update the cache file automatically, so it keeps the old version data. Only once it's deleted does the server recreate it with the correct data on the next start.

## What to do with future FS25 patches?

After every major FS25 update, similar connection problems can occur. General first steps:

- Restart the server — often that's already enough
- Check the server log for error messages
- Delete the AVD file (`AVD_XXXXX.dat`) if a DLC incompatibility is shown
- Check your mods for compatibility with the new version

## Frequently asked questions

**Q: Why does FS25 show the Highland Fishing Pack as incompatible after patch 1.19?**
A: Patch 1.19 changed the version data of certain DLCs. An outdated cache file (dlcAvailability.xml) on the server still contains the old data. Solution: delete the file via FTP and restart the server.

**Q: Where is the AVD file on the FS25 server?**
A: In the path Documents/My Games/FarmingSimulator2025/ — look for a file starting with AVD_ (e.g. AVD_63805.dat). The exact number differs from server to server. Depending on the server configuration it sits under the respective Windows user. Reachable via FTP with the server FTP credentials from the web interface.

**Q: I don't have FTP access — what can I do?**
A: Open a support ticket with your provider and ask them to delete the AVD file (AVD_XXXXX.dat).
