## Crossplay in FS25 — how it works

Farming Simulator 25 supports full crossplay between PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. That means your friends can play on your server no matter which platform they're on — no separate server per console needed.

In this guide we'll walk you step by step through setting up crossplay on your FS25 dedicated server, which limitations exist and how console players find your server.

**Important first:** Crossplay only works with a **dedicated server** — not with "Host game" from the lobby. And: only ModHub mods are crossplay-compatible.

## Requirements for crossplay

- **Dedicated server** — crossplay doesn't work in "Host game" mode
- **GIANTS account** — every player needs to create a free GIANTS account and log in in-game
- **Same game version** — all platforms have to be on the same FS25 version (updates release simultaneously for everyone)
- **ModHub mods only** — external mods uploaded via FTP automatically disable crossplay
- **Xbox players** — need Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate for online multiplayer

## Setting up your server for crossplay

**1. Enable crossplay in the web interface**

Open your server's web interface. Under **Server settings** you'll find the option **"Crossplay"** or **"Cross-platform"**. Make sure this option is enabled.

**2. Use ModHub mods only**

**3. Set the server to "Public"**

For console players to be able to find your server in the list, it has to be set to **public**. Private servers are invisible to console players — they can't enter an IP directly.

**4. Set a server password (optional)**

If only your friends should join, set a server password. Share the password with all your fellow players — no matter which platform. Password-protected servers still show up in the public list with a lock icon.

**5. Restart the server**

Restart the server after changing the settings. Crossplay settings only take effect after a restart.

## How players join on different platforms

### PC (Steam / Epic / Microsoft Store)

In the main menu go to **"Multiplayer" → "Find server"**. Find the server by its name or directly via its IP address. Alternatively, search the GIANTS server list.

### PlayStation 5

In the main menu choose **"Multiplayer" → "Find server"**. The server shows up in the list if crossplay is enabled correctly. PS5 players find the server via the server name — entering an IP directly isn't possible on console.

### Xbox Series X/S

Same process as on PS5: **"Multiplayer" → "Find server"**. Xbox players need Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate for online multiplayer. Without an active membership, joining isn't possible.

**Console players can't enter an IP.** The server has to be found via its server name in the server list. Make sure the server is **public** — otherwise it's invisible to consoles.

## Mods and crossplay — the golden rule

The most important rule: **only ModHub mods work with crossplay.** As soon as you have even one external mod file on the server, crossplay gets disabled and console players can no longer join.

## Troubleshooting: crossplay not working?

### Server doesn't show up in the console list

- Crossplay **enabled** in the server settings?
- External mods present? Remove them all and restart the server
- Server set to **public**?
- **Restarted the server** after changing settings?

### Console player can't join

- Same FS25 version on all platforms? Install updates at the same time
- GIANTS account created and logged in?
- Xbox players: Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate active?
- Server full? Check the maximum player count

### Connection keeps dropping

Usually a network problem on the console side. Console players should use a wired connection. With a DS-Lite internet line (common with some providers), NAT type 3 on consoles can cause connection problems — a dedicated server normally works around this issue.

## Tips for a stable crossplay server

**Pick a good server name:** Choose a distinctive name so console players can easily find it in the list. E.g. "Your Community | Crossplay | Beginners".

**Check ModHub mods first:** Before enabling mods, check that they're all available on ModHub. Only then are they crossplay-compatible.
